Week 17 - Cinder Weather

This heat.

This godawful, sticky burning heat marks the crappiest time of the year for me.

I've been playing a lot of Injustice for mobile lately, in light of the upcoming update to version 2.0 for Android. The shadowy spectre of multiplaying and, if the ongoing circus that is the iOS update is any indication, it may or may not be all for naught given the multitude of bugs they're burrently wading through (including cloud saves).

Anyway, this sucks. Apparently, most of the Star Wars Extended Universe have been declared non-canon. I wonder what would happen to the Knights of the Old Republic franchise (Darth Nihilus and company) as well as the Force Unleashed titles (starring Garen Malek the Starkiller). Everything that's not the movies and The Clone Wars animated series is getting branded a Legends title and they're starting anew. Not that I have little faith in what Hollywood would do for the reboot, but I really don't.

I also managed to catch the last three fights on the UFC 172 last. While two of them were pretty much predictable (Luke Rockhold beating Boetsch and Bones winning using his length and eyepoke threats as always), the fight between Anthony Johnson and Phil Davis was something else. I must admit that I brushed off Rumble's ability and expected a lopsided fifteen minute wrestling clinic. Not only did that not happen and Davis had nothing for Rumble, but Johnson's pace and demeanor was so much different from his first UFC stint. The 205-lb division just got a bit more interesting.

Later!
