Week 10 - Infinite Hit Points

"It might sound boring but I think the boring stuff is the stuff I remember the most."
- Russell, Up

Or as the brother said (and to put it a bit more accurately), it's always the little things. I guess that's true. Then again, a bunch of things turn out to be true over time - given that we walk in the right shoes. It's kind of funny when I really think about it, actually.

Anyway, I was cleaning up my things the other day and found a sealed copy of Siglo II tucked away with a couple of other unopened books. It's pretty odd, especially since I usually burned through books at a frenetic pace (and digest the contents much later). I guess the lesson here is that folks nowadays (myself included, sadly) tend to underappreciate the  value of free time - until we ourselves see how little of it we really have and often find ourselves looking for it instead of the other way around. I guess there's really nothing much we could do about it, but it's one thing to keep in mind for the people who don't see it that way.

It looks like backpacking to Dumaguete has just been added as part of the vacation itinerary. I'm looking forward to that, especially since I have a gut feeling that it would only be the cousins who'll be going with me (and perhaps some of their friends). It's always fun being lost in a place where I can't even speak the local tongue - and no, I'm not being sarcastic.

In other news, there's this nifty Instagram account that I stumbled upon recently. It's owned by some Russian photographer named Murad Osmann. His #followmeto series is particularly interesting - and I must admit that it's something special.

Also, I should probably have the updated Castle script posted on Monday. I've actually been running it for the past week while using a Java Mafia client and it's looking good so far. Running by the numbers, it looks like the drop rates for the Warm Subject gift certificates have been significantly reduced. It sucks, but I think a complete rework in underway once I find a better farming zone in the next month or so.

Last Sunday, I was laughing my ass off when Mark Hunt knocked Stefan Struve's jaw into orbit. In any given simulation, everyone (including myself) barely gave Hunt a puncher's chance of winning - even if people were actually rooting for him. I'm actually glad that he proved his doubters wrong and managed to turn his career around after a half decade slump. Coincidentally, the Reem somehow found himself injured going into his bout with dos Santos. It's funny how things work out sometimes, especially since the fans only have one person in mind that they'd like to see against Cigano.

That's about it, I think. And yes, I'm aware that this is the only entry for this week.

Later!

    1. Ah, I'll be there the week after that, I think.

I'm not the one doing the itinerary though, so I'll let the cousins decide where we'll end up staying. Thanks for the heads-up, might be a good idea to let them know.
