The First Tuesday

"Maybe Death is the great equalizer, the one big thing that can finally make strangers shed a tear for one another."
- Morrie Schwartz

So I have to interrupt my regular posts for this one.

You may or may not know this, but for the past two weeks the Philippines (in particular the city of Manila) has been ravaged by a typhoon as well as unusually strong monsoon rains. More than half the city has been submerged and thousands of families have been displaced, or worse.

While not everyone has the time or inclination to volunteer for physical charity work, there are always other ways one can assist.

One of them is by donating to the Philippine National Red Cross. They have set up various means of donating cash, but if you happen to have a Paypal account, that would probably be the most convenient way of contributing to the cause.

If you have some leftovers from online purchases, would it really be a bother to fork over the spare change to those in need? One dollar, one euro, one pound, one peso, it does not matter. What matters is that you care.

If you don't really have the means to donate but still want to help, please spread the word.

Remember, every little bit helps.

Thanks.
